In an important step, but its

sustainability is questionable, both India and Pakistan declared a ceasefire. Naturally, both sides declared victory over the other, in an effort to gain more popular support for any future military action.

After days of armed clashes in which all weapons were used, this threatens a comprehensive war that could escalate into a nuclear war, given that both countries possess nuclear weapons.

The US President announced a ceasefire on Saturday evening, describing both countries as having the courage and wisdom to agree to this decision.

But will this truce hold in preserving peace between the two countries, given that each side accuses the other of being the cause of the outbreak of war? We are living in a world where the decision to go to war and deploy the military machine has become very easy. Making political and military decisions that could lead to the lives of at least 100 million people.. because both sides used all types of weapons in just a few days.. and the agreement to a ceasefire came because both sides know the capabilities of the other well.. military strength and its readiness is the only criterion.. and this makes it difficult to solve the problem of the Russian-Ukrainian war.. because Russia has weapons and comprehensive military superiority.. in front of Ukrainian politicians who insist on war without pressure cards or political superiority on the ground.. Is the problem in what they possess of human capabilities.. Has obtaining political gain at the necks of the dead and innocents in the world.. become a legitimate act.. and where is the role of the United Nations in maintaining this truce and establishing peace. And holding elections in the disputed Kashmir region.. so that the people of this region can decide who they want to join, Pakistan or India.
